Vesda

VESDA stands for Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus. It is a high-sensitivity air sampling smoke detection system designed to detect smoke at the earliest possible stage—often before visible smoke is present.

Developed by Xtralis, VESDA systems are widely used in environments where early warning is critical and traditional smoke detectors may not be effective.

Purpose of a Vesda

  • Provide very early fire detection to allow timely evacuation, investigation, or suppression
  • Detect smoldering fires or slow-building smoke that conventional detectors might miss
  • Protect critical infrastructure and mission-critical environments
  • Reduce false alarms through multi-level sensitivity settings
